Iceland: Greta Salóme returns to Eurovision with "Hear Them Calling"

The Icelandic national final of "Söngvakeppnin 2016" took place on Saturday in the Laugardalsholl Arena in Reykjavik. Six contestants were in the battle to win the 30th edition of the Icelandic national selection. Greta Salome got the highest votes from the audience. As winner of "Söngvakeppnin" she will represent Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm.

"Söngvakeppnin 2015" - Running order

  1. Greta Salóme - "Hear Them Calling" (Winner)
  2. Hjörtur Traustason & Erna Hrönn Ólafsdóttir - "I Promised You Then" (4th)
  3. Karlotta Sigurðardóttir - "The Eye Of The Storm" (3rd)
  4. Þórdís Birna Borgarsdóttir & Guðmundur Snorri Sigurðarson - "Ready To Break Free" (5th)
  5. Elísabet Ormslev - "Á ný" (6th)
  6. Alda Dís Arnardóttir - "Now" (2nd)
After the first round it was a mix of jury and audience (50%/50%). Two of the candidates performed their entry again in the "Super Final". It was Alda against Greta. Greta Salome got the highest votes from the Icelandic audience and was the winner of the competition.

For Greta it's not the first time that she represent her country. 2012 she already represented Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Baku with Jónsi and the song "Never Forget". Do you remember their entry?

Greta Salome will compete in the second half of the first Semi-Finals on 10th May 2016 in the Globen Arena in Stockholm with her song "Hear Them Calling". Will she make it again to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest?
