Iceland: RUV announced 12 candidates for "Söngvakeppnin 2017"

Icelandic broadcaster RUV announced some days ago 12 candidates for their national selection of "Söngvakeppnin 2017". There are two semi-finals, followed by the national final on 11th March 2017. The songs have been recorded in Icelandic and English. The shows will be hosted by  Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir.

In each semi-final six acts will perform to get one of three tickets to the final. All songs must be performed in Icelandic in the semi-finals. In total six acts will fight for the ticket to Kyiv in the national final on 11th March 2017.

The ticket sale starts on 1st February 2017.

"Söngvakeppnin 2017" - Show dates:
  • 25.02.2017 - Semi-Final 1
  • 04.03.2017 - Semi-Final 2
  • 11.03.2017 - National Final

Greta Salome won "Söngvakeppnin 2016" and represented Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm. Her song "Hear Them Calling" failed to qualify to the Eurovision final. 

The winner of "Söngvakeppnin 2017" will compete in one of the semi-finals on 9th or 11th of May 2017 in Kyiv. Who should represent Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017?
